I enjoyed this book a lot. It is about a young Bohemian girl living in a new country at the turn of the century. Antonia struggles to help her family but wants to be away from them. Antonia trys to make friends and have fun. She often disappoints herself with her actions. This story is told by an middle aged man looking back upon the friendship he shared with Antonia. "My Antonia" is a great book and is easy to read.

My Antonia is a beautiful book. It is extremely well written. After reading it, the next thing I read seemed very ill-written by comparison.
The story is about the lives of Antonia, a Bohemian immigrant to Nebraska, and her childhood friend, Jim. It is a very real book, not hiding the fact that their lives were hard, but not desparing or depressing. I loved it!

It was unlike anything i have ever read but i liked it all at once. It is about two young people,Jim Burden and Antonia Shimerda in late 19th century Nebraska. It is wonderfully written with amazing characters and a satisfying end.
