does this sound familiar? divorced loser dad lands a crappy job so he can keep seeing his son. who lives with ex-wife who now lives with rich guy... old weak story line. this movie isnt funny. it just is. have u noticed that when comedians/male actors reach a dead end in their careers on screen they throw in a kid. or a family or go straight to sitcoms.cosby, steve martin, adam sandler,mr.bean, arnold s. & many others.(i’m suprised that jackie chan isnt a child karate school teacher/undercover detective in some sitcom.. while teaching lil girls to kick guys in the nuts he could bust crack dealers for selling drugs to his students)..anyways if your older than five, dont bother waiting to see this one. i dont know what type movie this is..very bad broken family film i guess.

hmm.....I’m the only one I know who actually liked this movie. I thought it was creative and original but then I quit paying attention to Hollywood story lines about 40 years ago. They usually are very, very bad.

No truly big surprises in this movie which is probably targeted at 10 year olds. This is borne out by the absence of really scary parts and even the potentially scary parts end up not being so (I don’t think that’s a spoiler). Still, the few non-standard twists in places makes it a fun movie to watch if not one engendering deep plot analysis.
Basically safe for younger kids to watch, and sufficiently entertaining for adults to watch.
