Narrated by Glenn Close and featuring the provocative and uniquely jaw-dropping aerial photography of famed photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, this soaring trip across planet Earth allows viewers to experience their home as never before." CONSENSUS: "A magnificently macro portrait of our planet’s alarming state of health, photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s “Home” puts the aerial imagery of his bestselling book, “Earth From Above,” superbly into motion." MOTIVATION FOR ME TO SEE: It seems like a good companion piece to Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." (2006). I've enjoyed the Discovery Channel's "Planet Earth" series, and it's my understanding that parts of this film were used. MY THOUGHTS: Here's a film that suffers on the small screen - big time. Oh, to have seen it in the theater (or IMAX). But the entire film just flows as it makes connections to what we are doing to our island. Great effort. Well worth viewing. [New Purchase by HCL]

This is environmental extremist propaganda. The video has some moderately interesting photos in the first half hour and then abruptly shifts into propaganda mode for anti-industry, anti-capitalism, and anti-success, blaming mankind for global warming... a natural and unavoidable process. There is also the usual alarmist hype about running out of oil etc. Suggest getting a better video for the family. Put this under the Adult Fiction / Junk Science sections.
