Set in France in the very first days of WWI, a young enginener is set out to survey a site for a new bridge. Unfortunately war being a non-disgrett creature cuases the young man to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is sent to a ward, were he is housed with other officers & enlisted men of the war to live for the rest of thier lives. It's a story of come to terms with the damage, and how to make amends with it.
