One of the better recent Sanford books. Unlike many of Sandford's recent books where identity of the miscreant(s) is provided at the very start and thereby eliminating the suspense factor, the identity in this book is kept from you until the very end, making it more of a classic style mystery. While there's the usual body count, there's not the overboard violence of recent Sandford criminals, nor the detailed description of gore. These make it a more interesting and gentler read, and Virgil Flowers' witty and slightly risque dialogue is always enjoyable.
