Now listed amongst my favorites is a vibrant, vivid tale of CHULITO, a sixteen year old gay Latino male and the earnest love he holds for his bestfriend, Carlos, his Bronx neighborhood and the people whom it inhabits. A not-to-be-missed read, as Rice-Gonzalez tackles some hardhitting struggles for a gay Latino gangster who must choose, not only between his love of hood vs. man, but also between staying in the game or living free and honest.
