I have read of all Lisa Carey's books and all work like bits of twine. Each strand holds its own meaning and power and as you keep going through the book, the bits of twine start to twist and turn until you end up with a thick piece of rope when you read the last word on the last page. She dips through many different perspectives through the present and the past yet it all comes together beautifully in the end that you can never get enough.
