When Simon, Jared and Mallory Grace move with their mother to the run-down Spiderwick estate, they do not have high hopes for their new home. However, they quickly discover that all is not as it seems in this place, especially after they discover a Field Guide to fairies and other magical creatures written by their great-uncle, Arthur Spiderwick. Once the siblings unlock the key to seeing the magical world around them, there is no turning back. The Spiderwick Chronicles movie has just come out, so check out all five books in the series and then go see the film!

I know this book is a little young for teens, but it is still a great read. If you start this, make sure you have access to the rest of series because they are REALLY fast reads.

This book is about three kid who just inherit a very old house full of wonder. One of the kids, jarred, finds a book and then things start happening and he is getting blamed. The book is the key to the mysteries to the house and creatures within. I give this book 4 stars because even though it's short it is excellent! [Series: Spiderwick Chronicles #1]

I loved this book! I just love the way Tony Diterlizzi writes. This is a story about 3 children and their adventure in their new house and they find some unexpected friends. Well I don't want to give away too much. This book will make you want to just keep reading the other 3 books. I highly recomend this book to young readers of the grade of 3rd to 5th.

I really like this book. It has small pages and big writing. The book has only 108 pages. I read it in one day. It was very good. I didn't think that I would like it very much when I started but it was great! It is about the three Grace children. Mallory, Jared, and Simon. Mallory is 13. Jared and Simon are twins and they are 9. in the beggining they move to thier new house and they dont like it. It is VERY run down and is really, really old. they find a secret library and that fairys are real! That is only the beggining. This is the 1st book of a five book series. I have read the first three and they are awsome. So read The Spiderwick Chronicles![Series: Spiderwick Chronicles: Book 1]
