Di Robilant’s story of star-crossed lovers with connections to his father’s family in eighteenth century Venice is a beautiful tribute to his father’s search for more letters and his wish that this story be published. If you are intrigued by Venice and upper class lives this is a well-written truthful tale although not one I could stay with word for word!
