I, robot
Asimov, Isaac, 1920-1992.
A classic, which I "heard" first because the library had a surprise cassette version in a corner in the back. It was a lucky find. Asimov's genius comes through clearly in audio.
Adult Fiction ASIMOV

The Lincoln lawyer [sound recording]
Connelly, Michael, 1956-
Michael Connelly's books are usually police procedurals; this is a new protagonist. They're all very good. I'm recommending this one because in audio it snapped with life.
Adult Fiction CONNELL

The serpent's tale [sound recording]
Franklin, Ariana.
A fine writer, may her pen never stop! This one in the series (#2) is my favorite to listen to, but they are all excellent.
Adult Fiction FRANKLI

The language of bees : a Mary Russell novel
King, Laurie R.
If you buy the premise, these novels are addictive. Some are better audio "listens" than others. This is one of her best.
Adult Fiction KING

Fear nothing [sound recording]
Koontz, Dean R. 1945-
He would be my Guilty Pleasure except he writes too well! This title is a favorite because Koontz likes his eccentric hero-characters so much.
Adult Fiction KOONTZ

Relentless : a novel
Koontz, Dean R. 1945-
One of his best. I can't resist the premise: an author stalked by a psychotic critic!
Adult Fiction KOONTZ

Red knife [sound recording] : a Cork O'Connor mystery
Krueger, William Kent.
Wonderful Minnesota Hero-Writer. I love all the books in this series. This one is a good example of how well they translate to audio.
Adult Fiction KRUEGER

To kill a mockingbird [compact disc]

A perfect book. Sissy Spacek is the perfect reader for it.
Adult Fiction LEE

The eye of jade [sound recording] : a Mei Wang mystery
Liang, Diane Wei, 1966-
Cindy Cheung does a superb job rendering the many voices and the book is better than a vacation.
Adult Fiction LIANG

Feet of clay : a novel of Discworld
Pratchett, Terry.
I'm just plain crazy about Terry Pratchett. No one does Genial Satire better these days. And the Discworld is fun, fun, fun.
Adult Fiction PRATCHE

To say nothing of the dog, or, How we found the bishop's bird stump at last
Willis, Connie.
Discover this brilliant writer in one of her lighter stories (she can be dark).
Adult Fiction WILLIS
