Moth to a flame : [a street novel]
Ashley, 1985-
This was a pretty good book. I found myself yelling at the main character often, but it had a good lesson to it. Also, it had many similarities to The Cartel, also by Ashley, in the book. I found that upsetting, because I like authors that are original and do not need to piggy-back off of their recent books, just to have another best seller. However, I would recommend this book.

The Cartel 2
Ashley, 1985-
| This book upset me to the point of throwing it across the room! I was so angry with the whole book. Not only was it depressing and unbelievable the whole way through, but it wasn't even real! The events in the book didn't even happen. This book was completely pointless and I feel the authors just wrote it to make money, because they didn't even need to add this into the series. It was horrible, but the first one was surprisingly good, with the exception that all the characters were half way mental and all stupid. If you do choose to read The Cartel, read the first one, skip the second one and just go on to the third, when it ever comes out!

I have to admit. At first I had my doubts about this book and contemplated putting down at the beginning, but with a little more encouragement from my friend, I continued. Turns out, I enjoyed myself during this novel and can't wait for the sequel to come out.

I must say, this is one of the best books I've read since my all time favorite, "Shame on It All". I couldn't put the book down. It was suspenseful, funny, tear-jerking and entertaining. I would recommend to anybody and everybody and I'm going out to buy it tomorrow.

I actually didn't enjoy this book, and it takes a lot for me to say that a book is no good, because I am usually open-minded about my reading. I thought the writing was very beginner like, and didn't take to my liking well. Although people have different opinions about books, I personally thought it was a waste of time. No offense to the author, because I am sure there were other good ones, but I didn't bother wasting my time finishing it. A first for me. If you wish to read it, I encourage you, but I do not recommend.

It's nice to just read about love, love, love sometimes. This book was a joy and I can admit that I am dreading bringing it back to the library. I still wish I had time to read it over again, because when I did I was smiling the whole time. The character of the men in this book are sort of similar and is hard to see the difference in personality between two of the male characters, but was overseen by the great way of writing. I enjoy and recommend for people looking for a complete romance novel.

I honestly don't know how to rate this book. It was VERY good, and I told myself that I wasn't going to read it but I ended up doing it anyways. Even though the book was good, I wanted to cry at least four times throughout the story, and it left me in a bad place when I finished it. I am very disappointed with some of the characters and wish that there was an alternative ending, but this book really showed me that there aren't always happy endings. Tasha and Trae's relationship happened to be my favorite, and Wahida sure ruined it. I still feel like crying, and I just had to right this review to let you guys know to brace yourselves before reading it. When I wrote my review for Thug Matrimony, I still stand by my warning. If you were satisfied with that happy ending, do NOT read this book!!! Can't wait until the one after this comes out, and I hope it does soon.

I never seen myself falling in love with Kay and Red's relationship, but I did. In this book, Wahida really has their relationship upstage Tasha and Trae's. I am a little reluctant about reading Thug Lovin', because I don't want to be disappointed. If you want to end with the romance and happiness, I recommend doing it with this one. I am dreading reading the fourth book (Thug Lovin'), in fear that it will be horrible. However, I highly recommend this book. It's really good and the story line is smart.

| I LOVE this book!!! It was really good. I honestly didn't expect it to be that good, but I was wrong. The author was very good at portraying the characters personalities and making them fit into the story. I am going to buy this book! | This book.... I don't even know what to say. I guess if I hadn't read the Thug series by Wahida Clark, I would of liked this. The beginning of this book is JUST like "Every Thug Needs A Lady"! That really disappointed me, and on top of that, the author used lyrics to one of my favorite songs in this book to describe one of the characters thoughts!!! So that really just made it even worse. But other than Keisha Ervin stealing somebody else's material, twice, it is a really good book! I would recommend to anybody looking for something interesting with love, drama and suspense. Good Read!

| I didn't really like this book. It didn't have a real plot and it was just sad and evil throughout the whole thing. I'm kind of sorry that I read it. The writing skills were excellent, though. This book will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time, being surprised by every chapter. K'WAN was very smart in this book and did a great job. | Hands down, K'Wan is my favorite author of all times. He is so advanced in his writing and has a unique way of doing what he does. I loved this book and the one before it. The whole Hood Rat series (Hood Rat & Section 8: A Hood Rat Novel) had my head deep in the pages for ever. I love his skilled ways and creative mind. His writing personality comes off as being really real and he has no problem dishing you the opposite of a fairy tale. I highly recommend K'Wan in any of his books. | This was a messed up book! I mean it was good to a certain extent, but for the most part, it was messed up. So the whole story shows how messed up these girls lives are and they decide to do something to make enough money to solve their problems. Let's just say, the stupidest one ends up the only one with a good life. I would recommend it only if there is nothing else in the book pile. |

There is a sequel to it, "Dead Broke", and I can't wait to read it. I am waiting in anticipation and am growing tired of waiting already and it's only been a day. | Dirty Red : a novel |
Stringer, Vickie M.
I say I would probably have to give this book a C. It was very fast paced, but not in a good way. The main character made me angry and I was actually rooting for the bad guy towards the ending. The sequel is no much better and actually worse. I think there should be another one after Still Dirty, but I will not read it. I have had enough of Red and her stupidity. Do not recommend.

All I can say for this book is that it was absolutely entertaining and kept me up from twelve o'clock to five o'clock in the morning reading. I can honestly say that women can relate to this book in some way and helped me a lot to see my self worth when it comes to relationships. I recommend this novel to a scorned woman who was played by a man in many different levels. Although I don't think any woman has gone through the drama that the main character has, it's still worth reading.

One crazy night
Urban Griot, 1969-
It's so refreshing to read a book outside constant sexual content and drug dealing situations. Don't get me wrong, I love my drama and love scenes but it felt good reading this book. One Crazy Night took me out of my comfort zone and put me through a mind twisting thinking process while reading it. It really opened my eyes to racial conflict and cults. I was surprised by the plot and thought it was well thought out. The author behind this one is a genius and will not be forgotten when I'm telling my friends about a book out of the ordinary.
