Bruce Miroff has written a very concise book about the effects of the 1972 McGovern campaign on the Democratic party and American politics. The book is roughly divided in two parts: a short history of the 1972 McGovern campaign and an analysis of the failures and successes of the campaign. The history part is really good, short and to the point. The analysis is interesting but gets redundant in places.
