Used Book Sale
Saturday, Aug. 23, 10a.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: Guilded Salvage, 4430 Lyndale Ave. N., Minneapolis.
Bargain hunters and book lovers take note: the Friends of the Library will hold a sale of hundreds of adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books in hardcover and paperback. Most books are withdrawn from the Hennepin County Library system or donated by the public. Funds raised will benefit the library. 
Saturday, Aug. 23, 9-10 a.m. Webber Park Friends members only. Join at the door!
Book donations accepted at the library beginning Aug. 1. Donations accepted at Guilded Salvage, 4430 Lyndale Ave. N., Minneapolis.

Author Talk: Pauline Knaeble Williams
Thursday, Sept. 18, 6–7:30 p.m.
Location: Webber Park Community Building, 4400 Dupont Ave. N., Minneapolis
Set in 1944 North Minneapolis, Williams' "Finding Hollis" transcends ethnic and racial barriers through the eyes of a young white woman who witnesses a tragic car accident only to discover as much about herself as the new world "where the black folks on this side of downtown were relegated."

First Pages for Teens: Fan Fiction

Grades 7-9. Daydream what happens to characters after the book or movie ends? Write a story about them! Learn writing tips and how to share your stories.

Make This: Anime and Manga Drawings
Thursday, Oct. 23, 4–6 p.m.
Location: Webber Park Community Building, 4400 Dupont Ave. N., Minneapolis
Registration required, begins Sep 25. Register online or call 612-543-6750.
Grades 7-12. Work with a local comic artist on developing and refining your anime drawing skills. Practice character and concept development, composition, drawing, inking and coloring. No experience necessary and materials provided.
