Edina Reads: Poet Emily Dickinson
Tuesday, April 22, 7–8:30 p.m.
In honor of National Poetry Month, poet and professor Elizabeth Johnson McGarry will address the enigma that is Emily Dickinson. Dickinson is an American poet who continues to captivate readers with her words and biographers with her life.

Used Book Sale
Saturday, April 26, 9a.m.–5 p.m.
Sunday, April 27, noon–5 p.m.

Bargain hunters and book lovers take note: the Friends of the Library will hold a sale of hundreds of adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books in hardcover and paperback. Most books, withdrawn from the Hennepin County Library system or donated by the public, will be priced $1 or less. Funds raised will benefit the library.

Great Decisions: China's Foreign Policy

China has gone to great lengths to emphasize the “peaceful” nature of its meteoric rise. What does the rapid rise of this new superpower mean for other countries in the region? Are there potential points of conflict with the U.S. as it “pivots” to Asia? Retired Foreign Service officer and media commentator Tom Hanson will speak.

Dance Together

Learn Together: Storywalk
Saturday, May 10, 1:30–3:30 p.m.
Location: Storywalk will take place in Grandview Square Park and the craft activity will take place in the Edina Senior Center.

Families. Walk and read along the trail as you "step" into the pages of "Planting a Rainbow" by Lois Ehlert. Complete the trail and complete the story! Also create a spring-themed craft.

Author Talk: Joe Bissen

Lost golf courses dot Hennepin County from Bryn Mawr (historically significant) to Rich Acres (once Minnesota's most-played) to Hilltop (home to some top golfers). Learn about more than 80 abandoned courses from Bissen, author of the recently released book "Fore! Gone. Minnesota's Lost Golf Courses 1897-1999."

Learn how to repair minor plumbing problems. Take apart different types of faucets, discuss the internal working parts of a toilet and see a soldering demo.
