Exhibit and Reception: The Precious Object September 18–November 30 In an increasingly cold, technology-saturated world, this exhibit speaks to the desire for the handmade. The 14 Minnesota artists in the exhibition explore issues of nature, simulation, craft, collection and fantasy through a broad range of materials and processes. The resulting work speaks to our personal connections with physical objects as a means to preserve, and sometimes replicate, experience and place. Opening reception, Sept. 18, 6-9 p.m. Exhibit runs through Jan. 3. 16th Annual Viva City Visual Arts Exhibitions and Receptions January 14–February 28 Juried artwork by Minneapolis Public Schools students in grades 6-12 will include exceptional art and poetry sponsored by Gary Fink, Louvre It or Leave It Gallery and the Family Housing Fund. The public is invited to receptions and award ceremonies highlighting the achievement of students featured in the exhibits on Jan. 28 for middle school students and Feb. 25 for high school students.
