Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden Florilegium Exhibition
Minneapolis Central Library

View nearly 50 botanical paintings created by students of the Minnesota School of Botanical Art. These watercolors serve as a tribute to America's first public wildflower garden. Accompanying the exhibition will be the sounds of the birds that frequent the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary.

Bling Your Bike

All About Bees

Crystal Boyd, an entomologist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, will discuss our state's native bees. She will describe bee research, recent pollinator legislation and components of a bee-friendly backyard. Reception 6:30-7 p.m. Lecture begins at 7 p.m. After the presentation, view the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden Florilegium exhibit in Cargill Hall and watch artists demonstrate botanical painting techniques.

History of Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Botanical Art

Join the curator of the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and the founder of the Minnesota School of Botanical Art to learn the history of America's first public wildflower garden and the tradition of botanical art. Tour the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden Florilegium exhibition with watercolor demonstrations by the exhibit artists. Presentation is 1-2 p.m. Tour and painting demonstrations are 2-3:30 p.m.
