Help your students gain a better understanding of our recent elections with the books on the Election Time and President Obama book lists.

Do you have students with family members who are in the military? Books on our Helping Kids Cope: Military Families list can start conversations, encourage empathy, and let kids know they are not alone.
Homework Help HOMEWORK HELP
November is National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month, and you can find a wealth of classroom resources at Colorín Colorado. • HISTORY DAY PROJECTS & EVENTS
Minnesota's Metro Regional Events begin as early as March 2, with the last one taking place on March 23. Who will go on to the State History Day contest on May 4? Will anyone go on to the National History Day contest from June 9-13 in Washington, D.C.? Spectators are welcome at all events.

Sign up to be a History Day judge and you'll help young people develop their leadership and educational skills. "History Day judges review entries in their preferred category, give students feedback and select which projects advance from the regional to the state and national events. The time commitment can be as little as one five-hour event or extend to multiple competitions in different venues; you can even judge websites and papers at home."

Explore this year's History Day theme Turning Points in History: People, Ideas, Events in Do Your Homework: History Day Projects subject guide. Find links to project instructions, primary source resources, websites vetted by HCL librarians, and databases purchased by Hennepin County Library. Online resources are available 24/7!
