Welcome and Approvals

Chair Jill Joseph called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. Kathleen Lamb made a motion to approve the agenda; seconded by Ms. Joseph.  Motion passed. Ms. Lamb made a motion to approve the meeting summary of Sept. 14, 2009; seconded by Ms. Joseph. Motion passed.

 

Future Meetings

Attendees discussed future committee and full Board meeting dates.  A suggestion was made to schedule a meeting in December to provide updates on the budget process (including possible amendments).  Discussion followed and Jill Joseph will bring suggestion forward to Executive Committee.

 

2010 Operating Budget Request Presentation to County Board

Ms. Thompson presented the 2010 Operating Budget Request for the committee. Discussion followed. Ms. Thompson presents the Library's operating budget request to the County Board of Commissioners Fri., Oct. 23, 9-10 a.m.  County Board budget amendments are scheduled Nov. 30 from 1-4; and Dec. 2 from 1-4; with final approval of the County Budget on Dec. 15, 2009.

 

Adjourn

Ms. Lamb made a motion to adjourn the Library Board Budget & Finance Committee meeting at 4:40 p.m.; seconded by Ms. Joseph.  Motion passed.

 

Action Items

·         Next LB Budget & Finance meeting date: Mon., Dec. 7, 4:30-5:30 p.m., Central Library, Doty Board Room.

·         Ms. Joseph will present suggestion for a December Library Board meeting to be scheduled to the Executive Committee.

·         Draft Oct. 12 meeting summary will be forwarded to Committee chair to be approved at the Dec. 7, 2009 committee meeting.
