On Jan. 12, join the party as customers, community members, library employees and elected officials celebrate the grand reopenings of three previously closed libraries. All libraries will open at 10 a.m.; special events and remarks from city and county elected officials will be held at each library as follows: Roosevelt: 10 a.m.; Southeast: noon; Webber Park: 2 p.m.
“Now the fun really begins -- the reopening of these libraries is a wonderful cause for celebration. It returns beloved libraries to their customers and signals the beginning of a new chapter for libraries in Hennepin County,” said Amy Ryan, director of the Hennepin County Library.
Customers at these locations will have additional computer access, new materials in all formats, reorganized collections for easier access and new staffs. Community librarians are: Ellen Buskirk, Webber Park; Eric Heideman, Southeast; and Lisa Stuart, Roosevelt.
The libraries are located at:
--Roosevelt, 4026 28th Ave South, 612-630-6590
--Southeast, 1222 4th Street Southeast, 612-630-6850
--Webber Park, 4310 Webber Parkway, 612-630-6640
The three libraries will be open Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
