Learn From Master Gardeners at Eight Hennepin County Libraries in October
Is it okay to fertilize now, or not? Should spring flowering shrubs be pruned now? Get expert guidance on improving your home’s landscaping and learn more about other gardening topics at eight free Master Gardener programs scheduled in October at Hennepin County libraries.

Tips on fall lawn care and preparing your garden for winter will be presented at three libraries, and expert guidance on pruning trees and shrubs will be presented at two libraries. “Edible Landscapes,” “Growing Herbs in Minnesota” and “Best Plants for Tough Sites” round out the remaining programs. Your questions are welcomed.

Master Gardeners are University of Minnesota-trained volunteers who have completed at least 48 hours of horticultural education at the university, 12 hours of continuing education, and 50 hours of volunteer service to become a certified Master Gardener. Master Gardeners are committed to “providing the highest quality, research-based horticultural information” to their communities. (www.hennepinmastergardeners.org)
