BLOOMINGTON 6TH GRADERS TO DO SERVICE PROJECT AT ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY FOR 'OLDER AMERICANS MONTH'

AZTEC DANCERS TO PERFORM AT CHILDREN'S DAY/BOOK DAY EVENTS
The Latin American dance group Kalpulli Ketzal Coatlicue will perform authentic Aztec ceremonial dance at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19 at the Ridgedale Library in Minnetonka, at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Minneapolis Central Library and at 6:30 p.m. Moday, April 28 at Augsburg Park Library in Richfield as part of Children's Day/Book Day celebrations.

CAREGIVING, CREATIVITY, LEARNING, LEADERSHIP, MORE ARE TOPICS OF UPCOMING PROGRAMS IN HENNEPIN COUNTY LIBRARY'S "55+" SERIES
Today, seniors and aging Baby Boomers are defying the traditional image of aging by being more active and involved than ever as they grow older — many while still parenting their own children or caring for aging parents. This year, a member of the Baby Boom generation will turn 60 every seven seconds — and this trend will continue over the next 19 years. To serve this growing clientele, suburban Hennepin County libraries are presenting an ongoing series of "55+: Age Well, Live Smart" programs focusing on library programs, services, and resources of special interest to people age 55 and up.

What's Your Dream Diversity Writing & Art Contest Begins in December at Some Hennepin County Libraries
Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream -- what's yours? Students in grades K-8 are invited to write a poem, essay, short story, or create a work of art about diversity and enter it in the "What's Your Dream?" contest at several suburban Hennepin County libraries.

NEW LIBRARY AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM COMBINES HOMEWORK HELP, TECHNOLOGY, AND GAMING
"ttyl@HCL," (Teens, Tech, Youth, & Learning at Hennepin County Library) a new after-school program with homework help, technology such video blogging and podcasts, and big screen video games that challenge the brain and the body, is scheduled through May at the Brookdale and Augsburg Park libraries.

ELECTRONIC LEGO® MINDSTORMS® TO BE DEMONSTRATED ON OCT. 22 AND OCT. 23 AT 'TEENS, TECH, YOUTH & LEARNING' OPEN HOUSES
LEGO® Mindstorms® -- programmable LEGOs® with electric motors and sensors -- will be demonstrated at "ttyl@hcl" (Teens, Tech, Youth & Learning) open houses on Oct. 22 and 23. The demo will show teens how to program and build robots and other automated or interactive systems using LEGO® Mindstorms®.
