Call 952-847-8811 (please dial carefully). Hennepin County Library offers an interactive voice messaging system that allows you to use your phone to make renewals and get information about your borrowing record.
Through the service you can:
- renew items currently on loan (you can renew items individually or all at once)
- get details on items you currently have on loan (titles and due dates are read)
- find out what reserve items you have waiting to be picked up (and you can cancel them if you wish)
- learn if you have any fines or other charges
Your record is updated immediately. (If you are renewing overdue material, please call back to review your updated charges).
To interact you need a
- touchtone phone
- library card barcode number
- personal identification number or phone number in your library record
The interactive phone service is available almost around the clock (exceptions: every day from 3-5 a.m. while computer backup is performed).
Renewal limits:
- If another person has requested the title, you cannot renew the item.
- If the item is not overdue, you may choose to keep it until the due date.
- If the item is overdue, you may choose to keep it and pay the fine upon return.
- There is a limit of three renewals per item.
- If you are renewing items that are already overdue, then fines are charged for the overdue time period.
- Material borrowed from other library systems and puppets cannot be renewed.
