FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
Hennepin County Library has a local Friends of the Library group at each of its 26 community locations. Join fellow library enthusiasts to get involved in supporting your local library by planning and volunteering at book sales, programs, and special events. The Friends look forward to meeting you!
Who are the Friends?
Friends of the Library are library supporters who strengthen community ties by sharing a passion for local books and learning, taking on fundraising efforts, assisting with programs and events, and sponsoring special programs for children, teens, adults and seniors. The 26 local groups together raised over $200,000 in 2006 to support the programs and services of Hennepin County Library.
What do the Friends do?
The funds raised by Friends are used to provide local programs, services, and materials that Hennepin County Library is unable to provide. Friends provide feedback to the local library from its community and also speak up within the community about the library and its services.
