Old Camden Place State Bank on Washington Ave. "Marked: "The Old Camden Place State Bank on Washington Ave. 1910" (inside). This is the first Camden bank- not the old Camden bank building still on the corner of 42nd and Lyndale N. today (2004). This building was on the corner of Soo Ave. and Washington Ave. N. At this time Soo Ave was a brick street that led down a hill, under the railroad tressle, to the river and "old Camden park". This building was across the street to the south from the bowling alley. For many years after it ceased being used as a bank, it served as a chicken hatchery. -R.M." |
