Biography
Cliford A. Taney, Jr. graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1920. His career in the military was halted after a leg injury shortly after graduation. He then graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in June 1924. He joined the Minneapolis law firm of Fowler, Carlson, Farber and Johnson (later Fowler, Youngquist, Farber, Taney, and Johnson) and stayed there until his retirement in the mid-1950s. He married Miriam Taney in 1926, and they traveled extensively around the world.
Collection Description
Clifford Taney Family Collection consists of miscellaneous clippings, his law degree and other certificates, Christmas cards, Miriam Taney's wedding announcement, forms of identification, a travel itinerary, and a Christmas story A Cheerful Giver written by Miriam when she was eleven.
