  • Where can I get free tax help?
    Check Taxpayer Assistance Programs for more information.

  • Will I be able to pick up publications as well as forms from your libraries?
    No, we only have selected free federal and state tax forms to give away to the public. Southdale, Ridgedale and Brookdale libraries have the complete set of federal publications for photocopying. Publications may also be ordered from the IRS at 800-829-3676.

  • Where can I find the Minnesota CRP form?
    CRP (Certificate of Rent Paid) Forms are not available for distribution from Hennepin County Libraries. Property Tax refund information and CRP (Certificate of Rent Paid) forms can be obtained directly from the Department of Revenue and on their website.

  • Will I be able to find the same set of forms at all Hennepin County libraries?
    No, each library has the option of selecting its own list of forms to distribute to the public. Usually, the decision is based on space considerations. For this reason, it is always advisable to call your local library to confirm the availability of a needed form before you go.

  • Are tax forms from other states available?
    You can find links to other state tax agencies along with their forms through the site for the Federation of Tax Administrators.

  • Do you have tax forms from previous years?
    The Southdale, Ridgedale and Brookdale libraries have reproducible federal and state forms from the past five years for photocopying.

  • Do you have envelopes I can use to send in my tax forms?
    Envelopes for the Minnesota forms are included in the booklet.
    A plain envelope can be used for the federal forms and mailed to the following address: IRS Center, Fresno CA 93888-0002 (no check) 93888-00102 (check enclosed).

  • Do you have tax help books that I can check out?
    Yes, such books are available at Hennepin County libraries for check out.
