Books that Bite
Which is the Book that Bites the most, the Worst Book Ever? Choose from these titles submitted by your fellow teens over the last two weeks.
Dramarama by E. Lockhart
Cute book at times, but overall it's pointless with a terrible ending
Ithaka by Adèle Geras
A poorly written, hormone-powered teen romance that makes a mockery of Homer's Odyssey
Jason & Kyra by Dana Davidson
The dullest writing ever
Crossing the Starlight Bridge by Alice Mead
It was one horrible book
My Own Worst Enemy by Carol Sonenklar
Makes me sleepy
The Pearl by John Steinbeck
It was just sooo dumb and they MADE us read it
The Silent Boy by Lois Lowry
This book was supposed to be about a "touched boy" but was only about a confused girl in a boring setting
The Other Side of Truth by Beverley Naidoo
It droned on and on with unnecessary details...boring!
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
It didn't make sense; also, why did the girl have to ###?
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
The story didn't make sense to me--it went on and on about things that were totally non-related to the plot, but then skimped on the interesting things
Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift
Swift capitalizes almost every noun in this book making it very hard to read; also, the story is completely unrealistic and Gulliver is an awful main character
The Valley of Secrets by Charmian Hussey
Extremely long and kooky; it had many run-on sentences, the characters were not well-developed, and there wasn't a hint of a plot
A Girl Like Moi : the Fashion-forward Adventures of Imogene by Lisa Barham
The girl in the book was crazy and thought she was really cool
The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
It was compleately unrealistic, very badly written, and the main character was weak and whiney
Billy Budd, Sailor and Other Stories by Herman Melville
The good news is that it is only 100 pages long; the bad news is that only the last 19 pages are plot
More Treasures from American Film Archives, 1894-1931 : 50 Films by Scott Simmon and Martin Marks
Yawn
Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls
The dogs die? Tooo predictable
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Weird
Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
There was absolutely NOTHING in this book enjoyed (except for the last sentence, which meant it was over...)
Hatching Magic by Ann Downer
It was so random that I could barely stand it!
Ida B : --and Her Plans to Maximize Fun, Avoid Disaster, and (Possibly) Save the World by Katherine Hannigan
Pointless
The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
You think you've caught the best thing ever and then it gets taken away from you, that is not right.
Across Five Aprils by Irene Hunt
Yawn
