OverDrive: your one stop for eMaterials in 2021
This year a new OverDrive site and the Libby app will be the primary tools for you to access eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines and streaming video from your library.
Library eMaterials currently on other platforms, including RBdigital and cloudLibrary, are moving to the new site in stages over the next few months.
New OverDrive site coming on March 1
If you access OverDrive via your web browser, you will notice a new OverDrive webpage for all Twin Cities metro library users.
Hennepin County Library OverDrive items will be part of the Twin Cities Metro eLibrary collection coordinated by MELSA. MELSA (Metropolitan Library Service Agency, MN) is the regional public library system that provides cooperation among its eight member library systems in the Twin Cities metro area.
If you use Libby, you will see more titles available, and everything will transfer except your reading history and tags.
Starting March 1, the transition to the new site will happen over a few days. You may see incomplete information about eMaterials in the catalog, OverDrive site and Libby app during that time. Access to holds, loans, and wish lists will be restored when the transfer is finished.
On February 1, RBdigital Magazines will no longer be available.
eMagazines will be available to check out on the new OverDrive site. Learn more about the transition from RBdigital to OverDrive.
On February 22, cloudLibrary will no longer be available for eBooks and eAudio.
If you use cloudLibrary, your borrowing history and holds will go away with the platform. You are encouraged to go to OverDrive and place holds on any titles still on hold in your cloudLibrary account.
