From March 1-23 kids are invited to vote online for two book awards: Star of the North and Maud Hart Lovelace.

Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award

From March 1-23, kids in grades 3-8 can vote online for their favorite nominated title. Kids must have read or listened to at least three of the 10 nominated titles to vote.

The Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award has nominees in two divisions: Division I for grades 3-5 and Division II for grades 6-8. Nominees are chosen by a selection committee. Selected books must be available in paperback by January 1, the author must live in North America, the copyright date of the book must be within the last three years, and the book must be a work of fiction.

This year’s winners and next year’s nominees will be announced in April. See a list of nominees and previous winners.

Star of the North Picture Book Award

From March 1-23, kids in Pre-K through grade 8 can vote online for their favorite nominated title. Kids must have read or listened to at least eight of the 10 nominated titles to vote.

Nominees for Star of the North Picture Book Award are chosen by a selection committee. Selected books must have copyright dates from the current or previous year and are by authors and illustrators who live in North America.
