Committee Structure Review
Chair Jill Joseph reviewed the Budget & Finance Committee structure.
2009 Committee Priorities
Library Operations Division Manager Nancy Palmer reviewed the County's 2009 budget timeline. Ms. Palmer provided an overview of the 2009 Library Budget, revenues and expenditures. She also answered questions regarding the impact the State budget reductions had on the County and Library in 2008 and the potential impact in 2009. Attendees expressed urgency for the Library to begin to identify areas for possible reductions in anticipation of the exact level needed which will be communicated by County Administrator Richard Johnson.
The priority for the Committee is to oversee recommendations for reducing Hennepin County Library's budget to reach the level of cuts needed in 2009.
2009 Committee Meetings Dates/Locations
Attendees agreed setting meetings in advance was most efficient. Thursday afternoons at 4 p.m. the week before Library Board meetings was possible for all in attendance; Nancy Palmer will provide a list of dates for consideration.

· Nancy Palmer will provide possible meeting dates to the committee for consideration
· Draft meeting summary will be forwarded to members to be approved at their next meeting
