Due to a water main break, Minneapolis Central Library will close at 5:15 pm on Monday, March 27.
Brookdale Library opened for service in 1981. It was the first library built for the Brooklyn Center community. The library underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2002-03 and reopened in 2004 in its current location. The library is part of a larger complex that houses district courts and a Hennepin County service center.

In March, kids are invited to vote for two book awards at any Hennepin County library: Star of the North (preK-grade 8) and Maud Hart Lovelace (grades 3-8).
It is estimated that at least 10,000 children in Minnesota have an incarcerated parent. We are offering several programs to bring light to this issue.
Hennepin County libraries do not have State or Federal print tax forms, but we can point you to helpful tax resources.
Join us at Brookdale Library to learn new things, be inspired and connect with others. Library events are free and open to all.
Join these volunteers who work closely with library staff to raise awareness of library services, raise funds, and plan programs and events.
