Spacious Southdale Library opened in 1973 and was the second library built in the City of Edina. When it opened, the library offered a new level of library service in suburban Hennepin County because of its large collection of reference and popular materials. The library is part of a larger complex that houses district courts and a Hennepin County service center.

Hennepin County Anne W. Grande Law Library will close at 5 p.m. starting Monday, Oct. 3, and will offer a new Continuing Legal Education (CLE) series this fall.
This Southdale Library book group meets with authors on Mondays monthly from September to May, alternating between Southdale Library and Barnes and Noble, Galleria. No registration required.
On Tuesdays Oct. 4-Oct. 25 at Southdale Library, experts and scholars will speak on a variety of topics from 10-11:30 a.m.
