Library service to the Hopkins community was established more than 100 years ago, when the library was housed in City Hall. The library moved to the historic Dow House in 1948 and then temporarily to a vacant restaurant in 1963. The library opened in its current location in 1968 and was renovated in 2002 and 2015.

In March, kids are invited to vote for two book awards at any Hennepin County library: Star of the North (preK-grade 8) and Maud Hart Lovelace (grades 3-8).
Hennepin County libraries do not have State or Federal print tax forms, but we can point you to helpful tax resources.
Join us at Hopkins Library to learn new things, be inspired and connect with others. Library events are free and open to all.
Join these volunteers who work closely with library staff to raise awareness of library services, raise funds, and plan programs and events.
