Dow House

About the art

This sculpture depicts the Dow House, the stone Victorian mansion that housed Hopkins Library from 1948 to 1963. Visitors to the Dow House would have experienced a charming library with two fireplaces, a large spiral staircase, and rooms full of books — so many books that the library eventually had to be moved to a new location.
