About the art
This fabric mural hanging 30 feet high on the library wall is deeply connected to its location, reflecting the look of nearby Mooney Lake in early spring. Local artist Joan Solomon used 14 fabric scrolls (made from completely recycled fabrics) to create this 20-foot-wide piece that ripples in the air, echoing the gentle movement of those nearby waters.
Artist statement
“At an early age I knew nature was my teacher, finding my true higher connection within it. When I was given the gift to create art, it came to me suddenly, infused with the ability to see and reveal the faces and spirit of nature.”
