Executive Committee meeting summary - April 30, 2026

The Hennepin County Library Board met on April 30, 2026, at Ridgedale Library, Robert H. Rohlf Room, 12601 Ridgedale Drive, Minnetonka.

The public is welcome at all library board meetings.

Welcome and Call to Order

Chair Jessica Kraft called the Executive Committee meeting of April 30, 2026, to order at 5:30 p.m. and welcomed all in attendance.

Attendance of Library Board Members

Library Board Clerk Lillian Albrecht took the roll call. The Board met the quorum with five members present.

2025 Hennepin County Library Annual Report

Director Duimstra discussed the inclusion of the Library Board in the 2025 Hennepin County Library Annual Report. The committee agreed to list Board members names to match how staff will be noted in the report. The report will be presented and distributed to the Board once completed in June.

May 20, 2026, Board Meeting Agenda

The committee reviewed and edited the draft agenda. They discussed the history of Commissioner Goettel’s role as liaison and will discuss whether to incorporate other Commissioners at Board meetings with her at the May meeting. The committee also voiced a desire to hear insights from smaller libraries unable to host Board meetings, which will be further discussed at the May meeting. Finally, the committee requested a future staff dialogue regarding support for high-incident libraries and voiced comfort with having two staff dialogues at meetings, as needed.
