Hennepin County residents will have an opportunity to experience a partial solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. Although the path of totality lies to our south, Twin Cities metro area residents can expect the sun will be 72-74% covered by the moon beginning at 12:49pm. The partial eclipse will be visible for nearly 2.5 hours, weather permitting.

Solar eclipse glasses are not available at Hennepin County libraries this year.
