Hennepin County Library has partnered with the Minnesota Timberwolves to offer a special-edition library card, available while supplies last at all Hennepin County Library locations. The card celebrates reading, creativity, and community connections across the Twin Cities.

The partnership will continue in 2027 with the release of a special-edition Minnesota Lynx library card.

The Timberwolves card is available to first-time and existing cardholders.

  • New patrons: Apply for your free library card at any Hennepin County Library location.
  • Existing patrons: Replace your current card with the new Timberwolves design. You'll receive a new barcode number. You may keep your previous card, but it will no longer be active. There are no stickers to place over existing cards.

Regular library card eligibility policies apply. Library cards can be issued to Hennepin County residents, employees, and property owners.

About the artwork

The Hennepin County Library card was designed by Reggie LeFlore, a visual artist based in the Twin Cities, who is primarily recognized for his spray-painted murals and public art. Reggie seamlessly integrates his traditional skillset into the digital realm, employing a distinct style that layers rough illustrative sketching, expressive handwriting and techniques that resemble various textures.

Reggie describes his library card design: "For this project, a remixed version of the Timberwolves logo was made using the new logo and these signature techniques. The design features brand-inspired hand-lettering set against a ripped paper-like texture, revealing an alternative green sketch beneath the surface."
