When it came out in 2003, this broadside marked a notable moment in time: the opening of the current library in the old Grain Belt Building. The broadside functioned not just as art, but as a fundraiser, with proceeds from its sale benefiting a community effort to replicate the old fountain and gardens at the corner of Broadway and Marshall. Jim Noreen of RSP Architects illustrated the fountain for the broadside, which also featured the poem “Tree of Two Birds” by Michael Dennis Browne, all artistically designed and printed by W.H. Schilling of Indulgence Press.
